BUGANDO collects more than THREE BILLIONS A MONTH
Bugando Zonal Referral Hospital has successfully collected more than 3 billion shillings a month after upgrading its electronic collection system.
This was stated on September 5th,2019 by the Director General of Bugando prof. Abel Makubi as he describes the hospital's achievements with officials, information and communication of the Ministry of Health, Social Development, Gender, Elderly and Children as well as its institutions who visited Bugando Hospital to witness the health sector's improvement over the past four years phase five.
Prof. Makubi said that after upgrading the system,
the hospital was able to collect the same amount a month, unlike previously when the hospital was collecting eight hundred million a month.
"In addition to these collections, the system has also helped to speed up the delivery of services quickly since there has been a loss of files, thus bringing complaints to patients".
After the government empowered zonal hospitals in the specialist services, the hospital has successfully purchased a modern CT-SCAN diagnostic machine, with local income worth shillings 1.7 billion, thus eliminating the adverse effects to hostile citizens and neighboring regions
“We have also improved the laboratory services by purchasing more than eight modern diagnostic equipment for three hours from 12 hours of equipment and thus brought comfort to patients increasing access to hospital services here and back where most tests were grown. they find them outside our hospital ”.
However Prof. Makubi said in improving the infrastructure we have been able to build a beautiful facility with all the services of specialist doctors where we receive 350 patients a day from the NHIF. The building cost 800 million shillings including a loan from NHIF that has been repaid since 2017, the professor said.
Prof Makubi has praised the ministry of NHIF for encouraging citizens to access health insurance and increasing their insurance coverage to 70% different from the previous 30% to 40%.
