The goal of the program is on preventing and treating obstetric Fistula. BMC implements outreach services, surgery and post surgical care as well as education on prevention and training for health workers. With this collaboration, all fistula patients stay at the hospital at no charges while waiting for and recovering from surgery.

Lurie Children’s has been sending paediatric residents for one month at BMC for the purpose of participating in-patient care shadowing as well as assisting in medical education of the medical students and Advanced Medical Officers (AMOs).
